Safety Guidelines for AC-DC Power Supplies used in Hazardous Locations
The European Power Supply Manufacturers Association (EPSMA) is pleased to announce the publication of the second guideline document for power supplies - Requirements for power supplies intended to be used in hazardous locations. This document has been drawn up by the EPSMA’s expert technical committee with the project leader from Siemens. The guideline illustrates the specialities required by a development engineer for the design and application of power supplies in hazardous environments.
The EPSMA will continue its series of safety guidelines for power supplies which will be published in the upcoming months.

AC-DC Power Supply Safety Guidelines for DIN Rail Supplies
The European Power Supply Manufacturers Association (EPSMA) is pleased to announce the first part of a series of safety requirement guidelines for power supplies – Safety Approvals for DIN Rail Power Supplies. This document has been drawn up by the team of experts on the EPSMA’s Technical Committee and was championed by the project leader from Siemens. It covers design issues, definitions and standards and provides advice on safety rules and certification.
The EPSMA aims to publish two more guidelines and design notes on medical and railway applications over the next twelve months.

High Density Packaging User Group (HDPUG) launches Application Guidelines for Board Mounted Power Supplies
The European Power Supply Manufacturers Association (EPSMA) is pleased to announce the publication of the first Board Mounted Power Supply (BMPS) Application Guidelines. The guidelines have been produced by the High Density Packaging User Group (HDPUG) in conjunction with leading BMPS manufacturers, with the support of both the EPSMA and PSMA.
They define the markets requirements for BMPS as defined by key users, and communicate the manufacturers, capabilities for meeting these requirements. Moreover, the 148 pages document constitute an efficient educational tool for anyone who wishes to be introduced to power conversion in general and with special focus on BMPS issues.
