Notes from the Secretariat

Spring is usually an optimistic time of year but 2022 is not turning out that way. Hopefully things will resolve soon.

On a positive note, the EPSMA welcomes RECOM as a new member

The EPSMA has revitalised its mission statment, agreed at the last MC meeting. This is now:
"Promoting the Power Supply industry in Europe and Supporting its Users"
This appears on the website home page and will feature in communications from now.
The statement emphasises that the association is not just for the benefit of power supply manufacturers but also for users, as demonstrated in our publications, which assist in the specification and application of power supplies.

The latest technical committee project is a good example of this, which will result in a paper explaining 'over-voltage categories' and what they mean for users specifying products. The report should be published later this year.

Collaboration with the PSMA

On the 17th February, the EPSMA 's Paul Lee gave a joint webinar presentation with the PSMA on the subject of the EPSMA's publication 'Lifetime prediction of Power supplies'. This was attended by more than 200 people and resulted in more than 60 requests for more information. The webinar can be seen on the PSMA website at https://www.psma.com/technical-forums/reliability/presentations?destination=technical-forums%2Freliability%2Fpresentations
